Emilio Cartoni is a researcher at the CNR-ISTC. His research expertise and interests involve machine learning, autonomous robotics, exploration in reinforcement learning, autonomous robot learning based on self-generated goals and computational models of animal learning (from neural structures to behavior). He contributed to writing the winning proposal for the EU FET-OPEN project: ''GOAL-Robots - Goal-based Open-ended Autonomous Learning Robots'' (2016-2020) and the European Space Agency (ESA) project ''IMPACT'' (2018-2019). He has a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience ("Sapienza" University of Rome).
